Tim Houghton is Senior Vice President, Assistant Chief Security Officer and Chief Safety Officer of Xpera Risk Mitigation and Investigations, Canada’s largest Professional Investigation company since 1975, with 24 offices and over 1200 licensed staff. He is a licensed Private Investigator, Executive Protection Specialist and Security Consultant.

Tim served 20 years as a senior Detective with the Metropolitan Police, New Scotland Yard, England. His career spanned National and International investigations across Europe, Africa, America and the Caribbean. A specialist investigator in homicide, organized crime, drug trafficking and armed robbery; Tim was a senior crime scene manager and court expert in narcotics, firearms, blood splatter, and crime scene forensic analysis. A member of the Professional Standards he completed specialist threat risk assessments, design and implementation of human safety policy for politicians, terrorism suspects and protected witnesses.

Tim leads a team of highly specialized investigators, enterprise and physical risk professionals, providing integrated solutions for all levels of Government, legal, insurance and fortune 500 companies across Canada and internationally.

Tim is the Past President and current Vice President of the Canadian Association of Professional Investigators, President of Alberta Association of Professional Investigators, Co-Chair of the international Mining Security Working Group, a member of the American Society of Industrial Security, World Association of Detectives, Canadian Security Council for the Americas, the International Intelligence Network and served as a Director for Crime Stoppers. He holds Enhanced Reliability security clearance from the Government of Canada.
