Delegates will take part in a mock multiparty mediation relating to a construction dispute. Scott and Steve will discuss the key issues in the dispute and the material evidence on liability and damages. They will break the delegates up into smaller groups, each representing a party to the action (local government, architect, structural consultant, general contractor, etc.) and take part in a mock mediation, with an actual practicing mediator, in an effort to resolve the dispute. Each group will prepare a short mediation brief based on the information discussed in the opening session, and then attempt to negotiate a resolution of the claim with the Plaintiff and the defendants.
