The Civil Resolution Tribunal (or “CRT” for short) is Canada’s first online tribunal for resolving strata, motor vehicle, and small claims disputes. As of June 1, 2017, the CRT has accepted small claims disputes up to $5,000. As a result, MIABC members are now on the receiving end of this entirely digital dispute resolution process. In this session, Samantha will walk through the CRT’s phases and will explain exactly what members need to know about their role in the proceeding. Delegates can expect to walk away from this session with a detailed understanding of how claims move through the CRT and what is required on their end when dealing with a CRT dispute.
