Steven obtained his B.A. in History from the University of Victoria before obtaining his J.D, from Dalhousie University. Prior to joining the Municipal Insurance Association of British Columbia, Steven worked at a downtown Vancouver law firm and practiced in a variety of legal fields including, insurance defence, municipal defence, and professional negligence. He has appeared at all levels of Court in British Columbia and has made submissions to a number of tribunals as well.

Steven enjoys the opportunity to work directly with a variety of communities within British Columbia and assisting them with their claims and helping them identify and reduce risk through blog posts, webinars, and other educational resources offered by the MIABC.
