Thea Hoogstraten is a member of the firm’s Insurance, Local Government, Defamation + Publication Risk Management and Appellate Advisory Practices. Her practice is litigation based with a focus on municipal law, defamation and administrative law.
Thea has represented police agencies and police officers in civil matters before British Columbia courts including a recent BC supreme court jury trial relating to civil liability for alleged Charter breaches.
Thea has represented clients in Supreme Court trials and before the British Columbia Court of Appeal. She also has experience both prosecuting and defending regulatory offences before administrative tribunals.
